good advice here Ray. However I remember when we were much younger and had good cars like a 55 Chevy Bel Air. we used to get the cars bumper to bumper. of course back then they were all metal. that was the ground and put both jumper cables direct. was it safe? naw probably not. those were the old batteries which you had to top off with distilled water or fresh water from the creek.
