Yes. Scotch makes a white fiberglass tape that is a fabric and it it used for high heat applications. Also the old friction tape was a black cloth tape that was used over rubber tape back in the R E A days of wiring. I don't know if it is still available, but it was about 10 years ago. I'm not sure about the person who wrote this article, but I have never seen electrical tape made out of fibre or any other material. It's always been made of a rubbery material, with an adhesive backing, and an almost glossy top. Either I'm very young, or this guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Any comments?
