A few years ago I wanted to install a new radio antenna on my roof. My home is an old 2 and 1/2 story townhouse and the top roof is about 45 feet high. I had another amateur radio friend help me assemble the antenna and carry it to the second story roof. When we got out there he looked around and told me that he is sorry but he can't go up to the top roof he is afraid of heights. Well I asked him if he had his hand held radio, ht. Since he had his and I also had one I clipped mine on to my belt and sent Gary to the bank at the back alley where he had a total clear view of the roof. When he got into position he guided me around the roof so I could install this 19 foot vertical antenna. It was long before I had an audible level so I just relied on Gary's sight to tell me if it was straight. Needless to say but there was more than one person a little upset with me about that adventure.
