Ed, you might want to keep in mind if that local gas station is on the same main power lines that you are they will be unable to serve your needs. that stored gas you have in the garage, in my opinion should have some stabilizer added. also you might want to ask around if there is an older gas station which has a manually operated feul / gas tank. We would have to travel about four miles for fuel which is stored in a hand crank tank both for kerosene and gasoline for the generator. sounds like a real nice generator you have there. Might I also suggest that in down times when you are not using the generator you start it up and let it run for awhile and plug in directly to the generator a iron. the same one you or the wife would use for ironing your clothes. we have an older one which is just used for the generator. with a unit as big as yours you will probably not hear the generator draw down when you plug it in but either way, if you plug in that iron and unplug it say 4 or 5 times until the iron gets a bit hot you will have activated the inner parts of that power plant.
