It's been illegal to release freon into the atmosphere for years now. I should have called the vacuum pump a recycler but I still have my vacuum pump for vacuuming down house air conditioners. And it's old enough that it doesn't have the option for capture. ----- Original Message ----- From: Tom Fowle To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, December 11, 2007 7:24 PM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] Refrigerator Problem
bob's discription is correct, of course, but in the U.S. releasing freon into the atmosphere is highly illegal. Of course in the amounts here it is not important as a "greenhouse gas" but it's still a big no-no. It could also be the thermostat checking the temperatures inside the chill compartment and the freezer should tell you if it's getting cold enough. Should be maybe 36 in the cold box and nearly or below 0 Fahrenheit in the freezer. Tom [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
