Dale has me beat by a mile. I can hardly imagine walking to and from work in minus 40 weather on a regular basis. I did once walk home from campus when it was well below zero F and very windy. I had to jump in the shower when I got home to try and warm up. But I doubt it was colder than minus 15 or 20.
the coldest night of my life was spent shivering in a sleeping bag, no tent, on top of a West Virginia mountain. Temps were in the single digits Fahrenheit, and the wind was howling across the summit strong enough that we had to anchor our packs down to keep them from blowing away. It was a training climb and it trained me to avoid sleeping exposed on a summit at all cost. -- Blue skies. Dan Rossi Carnegie Mellon University. E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tel: (412) 268-9081
