What is the best way to locate the 16" joist centers once you have the plywood laid out. I have a number of ideas however none of them have been tried and I'm not looking to reinvent any wheels. If my math is correct it will be necessary to split the third joist thickness in order to accommodate the edges of both sheets of plywood. Does this mean I need to trim off a given amount of material on each sheet prior to fitting it? Is an inch more or less on that third joist sufficient to fasten the adjoining edges of the plywood? What do I do to keep from building in a squeak where the plywood edges butt up?
