Well you didn't give any brand to choose between. But I have gotten a lot of use out of my Dewalt 18 volt tools. I like Dewalt because the same battery fits every 18 volt tool in the line. In my opinion the Makita may be a better tool, they run smoother, seem to have more power and I just like the feel of the drill. But they have a couple different styles of batteries for their tools and I don't like having so many different batteries and chargers to keep track of.
