The easiest way I found is to feel the slots the plug goes in. The negative goes on the size with the long slot and the positive on the short. In most cases, if the ground hole is downward, the negative is on the left and the positive is on the right if the front of the receptacle is facing you. ----- Original essage ----- From: Michael Baldwin To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, January 15, 2008 12:05 Subject: [BlindHandyMan] New toy
Hi, In the mail today, i got my talking multimeter. Now what to do with the darn thing. i mainly got it to test the heating mats I am putting under my tile. if I don't test them at several points during the install, the warranty is void. How would I test an outlet to make sure I got the hot on the right screw? i am sure I will think of many many uses for it.
