Handy little tool, isn't it? Got mine several years ago for a little under $3, wonder what the cost is now? RJ ----- Original Message ----- From: Bob Kennedy To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, January 15, 2008 21:21 Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] I hate plumbing!
I have a basin wrench with a flexible head that can turn 180 degrees. It has about a 15 inch shaft on it. But the cooler one is set up to put a 3/8 socket end in it. I have a 3 foot extension if necessary and that combined with a long ratchet will bust any faucet loose. They need to work on those wing or start fasteners. Get some clown putting one on and he has to put the channel locks to it or drive it around with a screw driver and hammer. ----- Original Message ----- From: RJ To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, January 15, 2008 6:04 PM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] I hate plumbing! There is a basin wrench that is a wonderful plumbing tool. Since the faucets are now coming through with plastic wings nuts, it is a wrench I use only occasionally ----- Original Message ----- From: Bill Gallik To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, January 15, 2008 14:37 Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] I hate plumbing! I have replaced the guts of 5 toilets in the past 3 years and they all work wonderfully now. Changing a sink faucet is an exercise in patience to be sure, but I have more patience than greenbacks and saving that dinero makes me even more patient than usual. The thing about plumbing is you have to be precise in measurements or you end up with leaks unless you are OK with using the flexible tubing connections. And of course those tight spots present an entirely different challenge; how can you cram wrench, knuckles and movement into those little corners where someone installed pipes when everything was new and open. Again, patience, Patience, PATIENCE!!! ---------------- Bill Gallik E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - "The reason why worry kills more people than work is that more people worry than work." - Robert Frost - "The purpose of life is to fight maturity." - Dick Werthimer [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
