Any time you try such mechanical modification of gauges, consider they may be sacrificed, often the pointers are much too sensative and delicate for blind haptors, or haptors of any sort of course.
Anything that measures pressure or fluids/gasses etc. you may well break the seals and cause leaks and gauge distruction. It can work, but be aware of the risks. Tom
