The Stabila level does beep as the ad says.  I have one and used it to build my 
shop and I built it alone.  They are pricey not because of the beeper built in, 
but the extra features that us totals can't use.  Such as degree and angle of 
incline, and of course the ever popular "German engineered" parts.  And a neat 
feature for those that can see is the 360 degrees of rotation for the vile so 
it can be read normally no matter the angle...  

But if you want something accurate for either level or plumb the 48 inch model 
works great.

  As of now only the zercon audible level and the "smartlevel" are
  audible and those are only just usable in my not very humble opinion.
