Lee, I used to use quite a bit of that stuff when I was a kid for trying to control some minor flooding we had on our road in wet Summers. I don't know if it's still around either, but you're right, it held up better than you'd think given its composition.

Orangburg was something that actually held up pretty good in the heavy clay soil we have here . Not sure if that product is still on the market.
