There is a couple I know of up here who collect oil from the various restaurants in town and add it to their fuel. I understand they do it for ecological purposes too but I rather expect they are just cheap. I wonder if the exhaust fumes kill you with sleep and dreams of fish & chips!

This episode was entitled Fast Food Tech. Although they were talking about general fast food, they spoke about McDonalds, and how they are going green in this new age of environmental friendliness. They apparently recycle their cooking oil, and use it in their truck fleets, mixed in with their diesel. I forget the technical term for the diesel cooking oil mix, but I think they called it hybrid diesel, or something to that affect. Anyway, I thought it fascinating that they could mix cooking oil with diesel, and it apparently creates a cleaner burning fuel, and their trucks put out less pollutants then the regular semi-trucks.
