There is a story in our local paper where a worker was shot in the head with a 1" nail. He bent over to pick up something and his co-worker accidentally shot him in the head. I disagree with the term accidentally which was used in the paper carelessly would be more accurate. I have always stated that I feel safer using my tools than letting sighted people use them. Sighted people take things for granted where we as blind handy men and women can't afford too. We must know where our hands and fingers are in relation to the saw blade or nail gun. Most times when I use a nail gun I don't like anyone down stairs and if there is someone they will not be in front of me. They had to air flight the man to a large hospital in Allentown about 70 miles away. The nail went full depth into the top of his head. This should be a reminder to all of us about safety.
