Now I'm not feeling so stupid. I was building my shop last summer and using my framing nailer. One nail I shot busted off a chunk of wood and the wood ended up ripping my finger nail all the way to the quick. I got my finger rapped up and had my son come out to work the nailer while I held the wood in place. I don't think he was paying real close attention to where he was aiming and ended up hitting me in the same finger tip that I wrecked the nail on earlier. I was about a foot away from where the stud and plate met and the nail went into the side of my finger, hit the bone and plowed around the bone and out the other side.
I preached a sermon for the neighborhood at that point. The first oops got me warmed up and the second inspired me to share at loud volume... The problem with the guy that got shot in the head is someone either didn't care the had a sequential fire nailer or the operator had to hold the bump mechanism back so the nail could be fired. If you use a sequential or bump fire gun you can hurt yourself if you drop the gun.
