This has some points I didn't make, but doesn't discribe the
bernishing step well.  He also either forgot or doesn't know about the step of
running the tool's point under the but to straighten and even it up.

He's correct, resharpening has to be done fairly often
but doesn't take very long.  And the thing can get pretty warm with a lot of
work.

I've used broken pieces of spring from a very large clock, maybe 2 or three
inches long, by inch wide. but those were for cuved tools
for fiddles.  You grind whatever blade curve you want, kind of like
a french curve but not so drastic.  These are more flexible than the cabinet
scrapers you want for flat surfaces.
