Hi Lee, I can think of no reason or advantage to having more than one trap in a line. You might want one in each branch line but more usually at the end of a branch right at the fixture. There could be some disadvantages, a trap introduces a lot of turbulence which can cause debris to fall out of suspension and thereby increase probability of blockage.
The point of a trap is just to seal against sewer gasses passing back up stream. The water in the bottom of the 'U' does that and two won't do it any better. ----- Original Message ----- From: Lee A.
