I always just rigged up wool blankets over the windows. The gf, however, won't
have that. Lol.

Thanks Bob, I went ahead and grab a pair to try and then found some at
Costcos that we thought we'd try. So, in total I got three, but I'm
returning the one we picked up at Costcos. You have to cut them
yourself which isn't bad as they do give you the tool, but you better
be careful and get it right. However, the header rail was so flimzy
that I could mash it with one hand so for just a few dollars more,
I'll get the Home Depot modle. These aren't the Hunter Douglas at
$139, but they are still pretty nice. These do you the string to pull
them up/down, but that's ok. We'll look about to see what else we can
get that would not require a special order. That's the only problem.
If you get them as a special order, you end up paying more, but they
typically are a little better quality. So far for the few hours they
were up there, they seem to make a real difference and I'd like to try
one more in my son's room since it gets a lot of son. If it works well
there, then yes, we'll over time replace the vinal shades we currently
have in the house. Thanks for your input again.
