Shane, I used to use a Hobart electric soldering gun. It was good up to 1
and a half inch nominal pipe size. When I would use it on one half inch pipe,
the power needed pulsed because it would get hot before you were ready
sometimes. It did have a very close clearance which I liked. clearance was
around half inch to things to the side.
There are other brands also probably. I think brand will depend on what
store you shop.
