If you get a non powered hub, the power from the port to which the hub is connected must be devided between the devices hooked to the hub. If you get a powered hub, one with an external "wall wart" type power supply, then that problem is lessened, but you have another wall wart to find a slot for in your probably allready crowded power strips, and more wires. I'd get a card unless my computer were too full for one.
