A wheelchair ramp should have a 12 to 1 slope. That is for a 39 inch high porch the ramp should be 39 feet long. It should have landings for resting approximately every 10 feet. Remember that the 39 foot length doesn't have to be in a straight line. A series of zigzags will take up less space than it seems at first glance.
