I too like Electrolux the best.
i did vac before using the Hoover carpet steamer. But the intake for water 
on it just didn't do ditlley.
It was a bit clogged. But even all that air blowin underneath the thing 
didn't do much unless I would leave it there, running to move something 
out of the way. But to be clear, I wasn't racing around with it, I was 
brushing back and froth with it in 1 foot passes to brush the fibers and 
suck up the liquid.
Being clogged must have been a factor, butthe size of the intake was as 
well.
