I've done that before installing deadbolts as well. Have to smear a lot on since a lot of pressure on a deadbolt can wreck some of the parts... ----- Original Message ----- From: RJ To: handyman Sent: Wednesday, October 22, 2008 8:23 PM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] What good is lipstick with plasterboard
Here is a tip for you that have the sight to use it. The question is what good is lipstick while hanging plasterboard. Answer: having a sighted wife, that has become very efficient with a sabersaw, Take a stick of lipstick and paint the outer edge of the electrical box with it. Place your plasterboard in place and lay a board near or over where you believe the box is, and smack it with a hammer. It will mark out the elevtrical box for you, without having to measure. My wife have cut out several boxes this way, over the last few days. Not a mistake in the cutting as yet, and the cover plate fitss. I got a kick out of her, when I first asked her if she had any old lipstick. RJ P. S. This work great on paneling too. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
