Well I received the call that the fabric for reupholstering the dining
room chairs is in. So I looked at my 1/4" crown pneumatic staple gun and
was surprised to learn that the shortest staple it handles is 5/8".
The seat board is 1/2" so a noo tool has been acquired. Looking at the Arrow
staplers the old hand one was $17, The power model was a little over $20,
Then had an electric t-20 on clearance for $26 and the t-50 the regular size
for $30. The t-20 had a feature that it could shoot wire staples and some
brads. I know the guy who works at Home Depot and he advised against that
one since it is being closed out. It would not be a good price if I can't
locate the staples. So I purchased the t-50 electric and a box of 3/8"
stainless staples. I don't need stainless but on the porch steps I have some
treads that are turning up at the edges. The stainless steel should last
quite a while.
