Hi Mr. Lee, and list, I don't like chair caneing all that much, how ever that
being said, I have caned a few chairs at different times through my life. And
have made some extra dollars doing this. In our area, their is hardly know one
that does this work, so we can charge $1.25 a hole. and what's kind of cool
about this work, is you can work and listen too your favorite book. Hell,
maybe I need to go out and hussel up another chair to cane, grin. I do love
money. I believe in some parts of the country, you can even get more,
depending on how many folks cane in your area. Talk later. Don

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] caning and repairing chairs

Kevin just said he is getting $1.00 per hole and when we first started
in the late 50's we were at 15 cents a hole and when I left home in 66
Mom was getting 26 cents a hole. The point I would like to make if one
has the ability to use your hands and think. you might not get rich but
you could make some money not only caneing but repairing older
furniture. You might need some sighted help to scout out and find some
deals on chairs of different kinds but the money is out there as is
the ability to apply the skills as a blind handyman or handywoman.
Then you toss in some learned skills at your ability to haggle on price
and work that you would be willing to take in. Lee
