My dad has built up the soil around a couple trees in his yard, a couple of maples, and hasn't seen any problems with the trees. The roots were buldging above the ground, so he laid timbers around them and filled in with soil. Then turned the area into a flower garden. He has built up 8-10 inches, and it has worked fine. Blessings, Tom

One day this tree will find itself a pile of firewood. grin On Nov 18, 2008, at 8:05 PM, Lee A.
