A few years ago we purchased a set of oak TV tables. When in use there is a cross member on the outside legs. The legs and cross member are about 3/4" square. The cross member is attached by a 3/8" dowel. This is the third table that the cross member broke and it is quite difficult to remove the broken dowel. I am considering drilling a hole through the leg and into the cross member to insert a screw. I think it would be a little tricky to drill the holes centered and straight in all of the tables. I also considered just using some tight bond glue on the broken one then use 1" inside corner brackets on the under sides each of the legs. Any and all suggestions welcomed.
