That is absolutely no way to make tea! You deserve what you get! I don't feel the least bit sorry for you! Even if I knew how to prevent it I wouldn't tell anyone who makes tea like that.

I know that if one places salt in the water, this will prevent the boiling over, but is there something else that will not make my tea taste like a salt mine? Grins.
