Hi Claudia, You can buy oven cleaner which is probably your best bet, or you can make your own as I used to do when reconditioning dimestic applances. We used to make a solution of corn flower, water and costic soda. I cannot give you exact measurements because I just used to make it to task safe to say in a one pound jam jar, I would put maybe 1 teaspon of corn flower, one table spoon of costic soda, and fill the juar with cold water, Mix and shake well. (YOU! DO! NOT! NEED! MUCH! CORN! FLOWER!). Basicly, the corn flower allows you to apply the solution with a paint brush and then you would allow this to work for half an hour then really wash it off with clean water. This worked better than anything I could ever buy, but I used to some times be cleaning ten or more cookers. If you use any oven cleaner worth it's salt, where gloves as they are all costic based. Warm regards. Martin Webster. --- On Fri, 1/9/09, Bob Kennedy <[email protected]> wrote: From: Bob Kennedy <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] Cleaning my Oven? They don't go well with anything burnt. Candles can help to clean the air as well. ----- Original Message ----- From: Claudia To: Claudia Cc: cookinginthedark@ acbradio. org ; blindhandyman@ yahoogroups. com Sent: Thursday, January 08, 2009 7:11 PM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Cleaning my Oven? Okay All, While cooking dinner, I inadvertently spilled cream soup and milk into my oven, when I was placing a baking dish inside. The food came out fine, but how do I get the horrible burnt smell, out of the oven and the entire house? I have the oven open now, so I'm hoping it'll cool faster, so I can tackle cleaning it! What else can I do? Thanks.
