Ed, you can also get a telephone activated power outlet from Radio Shack
for I think about $15. I think it's designed to activate a light when the
phone rings for deaf people. Plug it into the wall and plug it's phone cord
into the phone outlet. Now connect some audio device to one of the two power
outlets. Now call that phone number and while the phone is ringing the outlets
are providing power to whatever device is connected. I have an outdoor loud
speaker. I've thought about putting it on the roof connected to a a bell or
something so I could tell where my house was up to a mile away with my cell
phone.
