Well it is too large for small claims court since she paid over $20,000. But I'd tell her to stop the clean up and contact an attorney. If she damages anything with a razor blade she may damage her case as well. ----- Original Message ----- From: RZaug To: [email protected] ; RZaug Sent: Monday, May 25, 2009 9:03 PM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] newly installed bathroom with poor cleanup
Hello Everyone, I've a friend who just had an extensive bathroom remodeling job finished. It was of course very expensive, almost twenty thousand dollars. Things went along rather well until near the end and the terrible job of cleanup. It turns out the man who put the grout down with the floor tile, dumped the excess large bucket of water and muddy grout into the bathtub and left it there to harden. What this did to her pipes is something I don't want to even think about. Then she was told the job was finished and the cleanup was up to her. She did not discover this for hours after it had happened. She was told it had been up to her to keep after the workers to be sure they did their job. I feel the responsiblility was that of the contractor and not hers. She is now so upset and I am in listening mode here and do not want to upset her more with questions now. This is absolutely not acceptable. Much of the work was done satisfactorly. She is now scraping out the tub ever so slowly with razor blades! I am more upset than she is I think.
