  Dear Rita:
Your friend has every reason to be miffed and for that matter, she has a
claim against the contractor, as a contractor is responsible for the acts of
his employees. She needs to consult an attorney in her state and to discus
filing a claim or having the attorney get after this person. I would also not
recommend that she try to clean up the mess, as I fear she will make it worse.
Any fool would know not to leave grout
  left-overs in a bath tub.

  Yours Truly,

  Clifford Wilson

Hello Everyone, I've a friend who just had an extensive bathroom remodeling
job finished. It was of course very expensive, almost twenty thousand dollars.
Things went along rather well until near the end and the terrible job of
cleanup. It turns out the man who put the grout down with the floor tile,
dumped the excess large bucket of water and muddy grout into the bathtub and
left it there to harden. What this did to her pipes is something I don't want
to even think about. Then she was told the job was finished and the cleanup was
up to her. She did not discover this for hours after it had happened. She was
told it had been up to her to keep after the workers to be sure they did their
job. I feel the responsiblility was that of the contractor and not hers. She is
now so upset and I am in listening mode here and do not want to upset her more
with questions now. This is absolutely not acceptable. Much of the work was
done satisfactorly. She is now scraping out the tub ever so slowly with razor
blades! I am more upset than she is I think. Rita
