And, since I'm feeling rebellious and anti establishment today,
Here's something somebody might try which would be quite illegal.

Take the digital to analog converter box, which
presumably has been set up with power and an antenna.

Connect its R.F. output, which would be set to either chanel 3 or 4 which
ever is blank, and connect it to a T.V. preamp of the type which is intended
to improve analog T.V. reception. since these preamps are designed to amplify
a large number of signals over a fairly wide frequency band, what will
probably happen when you put in only a single signal from the converter box is
that you'll get a pretty strong signal on chanel 3 or 4.

Connect the output of this preamp to a set of appropriately selected rabit
ears, with a 75 to 300 ohm transformer, and voilas, you might just have a
house wide signal for portable radios on chanel 3 or 4.

It is not unlikely the power you'll get out of such a lash up will exceed
that allowable for unlicensed transmitters, so it's on your head
if you try it.

Of course you could also use a so-called "personal F.M. transmitter hooked
to the line audio outputs of the digital converter to get nearly the same
results on the F.M. band and it'd be legal.

But I bet the illegal trick might just produce better coverage.

Don't tell the FCC I told you to do this when you get caught, which
is probably pretty unlikely but-----
