Dan, if you have the room, you can hook a garden hose to the end of a length of pipe and shove it through the ground to make a tunnel. You would need couplings and lots of spare Pike, but you might not have to dig a trench. The exit point might be a precarious matter, and cleanup might be horrific, but you'd have undisturbed backyards.
