Similarly, when I am doing a circuit for myself I don't care, and I may 
use clear insolation on the wires. But when i sell something to someone it 
is best if the pos and neg have the red/black or black/white that the 
consumer market is expecting as the customer may wish to do something 
inside by themselves. I don't want a call from their lawyer.
Plus hey, I need to know that my gray hair is actually very very light 
green, ya know.
