Never could see the point in that sort of technology. It isn't much good to have your car take you to some corner of a mal parking lot if you can't find your way to the door. And once you do, try finding socks or a reliable accessible tape measure or a dozen eggs at Wal-Mart. Find your check-in desk from the fourth level parking section K at the airport or find your talking car from the arrival gate after you find your luggage which was delivered to the opposite coast by the airline.
There are busses and subways and all sorts of transportation that most blind people already don't use which already take you about as close as your talking car will take you and few use them and we all know why. There are hardly any accessible traffic lights for crying out Christmas! Blind people driving cars won't help us in the very least. Few of us can afford most of the current technology and it is all much cheaper than an automobile without all that special equipment stuck on it. Seems to me there are a lot more things which we already have cheap and reliable technology to achieve but which aren't there before we will be making use of dune buggies which we can maneuver around plastic pylons in a parking lot with a guide in the passenger seat monitoring the computers.
