Dale, I'm glad you said it first, and better than I would have As someone else said perhaps the only usefull things that may come from this colossal waiste of money are some spinoffs. As we move, very slowly, towards the end of the car age, it's stupid to imagine blind ones will ever be allowed or able to actually drive one on public roads.
As a rehab engineer for over 25 years I am absolutely convinced that the reaction times for any such system can never be fast enough for emergencies.
