Well getting the house spruced up for my daughter's wedding next week is
becoming quite frustrating. First the problem with the paint from H.D. and
now another dilemma
On Thursday evening Karen did some touch paint on the railing. We had some
paint left over from 2002 and it appeared to be ok. There was no scum on the
paint. Anyway this is an oil based enamel and is to dry to touch in 4 to 6
hours. So far it has not dried completely. Friday we called Sherwin Williams
for some suggestions. We were told that the paint should still be good and
because of the high humidity it will take a little longer to dry. He
suggested having a fan blow on it. Well since Friday morning we had a fan
and the air conditioner running. Parts of it are dry but a lot of it is
still wet.If it is not dry by Tuesday, I am thinking of trying to strip it
and have some latex tinted to match and repaint. Friday we will have a
rehearsal party. This morning we had the carpets cleaned so there is an
additional lot of moisture in the house.
