Just another option would be to buy two two drawer file cabinets and a blank
slab door. Sizes do vary, but six foot eight inches will be the shortest
without sawing it up. Makes a relatavely sturdy desk. You can get solid core
doors if you want that much weight . Screws can be put through the top of the
file cabinet into the door to hold it from slipping around. Of course you have
no small drawerss but moving it to another location is simple with three
pieces. And the slab door would need a finish applied to it.

    Aloha Claudia,
Some do, for a price. The ones that John mentioned, are pretty easy
to assemble yourself if you have patience. I purchased three sauders
bookcases in 1989 and they are still perfect. I also purchased a
large computer desk with a hutch on top a year later and it's still
perfect. I think you could assemble them with a little direction if
you're not used to doing that sort of thing.

  I don't remember the brand, but I bought a do-it-yourself two drawer
wooden filing cabinet and put that together. Sometimes it is helpful
to look at the assembled item in the store. Get your fingers in there
and really look at the kind of screws and fasteners that are used and
  where they are.
  Good luck,
  Betsy
