the cover, the winter cover is made of some sort of plastic / vinyl. it has last ed thru 13 or 13 Northeast winters ice and all but if I can buy one more winter with a half so and so patch job. then I would be pleased . now I am thinking maybe a glue of sorts to tack it down the cover is on and stretched as tight as possible with 5 gallon water and chlorine buckets half full to anchor from the harsh North and west winds.
