This is a very interesting topic only because I've noticed with more recent containers from Food Saver, we have noticed a higher rate of failure. We've never washed them in the dishwasher, frozen, or heated them. However, they have started developing hairline cracks, which you notice when the seal no longer holds. My wife came close to loosing her face when one container exploded. I know that sounds crazy, but there must have been a defect in the lid because it imploded and then exploded; blowing its contents all over the kitchen.
