A standard miter can cut the width of the blade or part of that width as some goes beyond the fence.
A sliding compound can get close to 16 inches in some cases. I have a 12 inch model and I'm between 15 and 16 inches in cross cut width. ----- Original Message ----- From: Alan & Terrie Robbins To: Blindhandyman Sent: Monday, November 09, 2009 7:26 PM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Power Miter Saw My understanding is there are a couple of different type power miter saws? I am borrowing my son-in-law's standard 10 inch one and love it. He tells me there is a type with a sliding arm as well to accomplish the ability to cut a wider board. Any idea how much wider?
