When the flame went out, did the gas shut off automatically? If it didn't and
this is a totally manual light and shut off I would not sleep if gas can get
into the house. Is a button depressed or held in when lighting this or is it
done with a electric switch or even with a wireless remote control?

Hi Ron,
It worked then some time in the night the flame went out.
Don't know about a pilot but after the cleaning
of the logs it is working again.
This email is another keeper as I also have gas
logs and this just might pull my but out of the
non-working flames in the future. Again, thanks.
