Lenny, I have been using the braided toilet fill hoses for years, on about 35 toilets on rental property and have never experienced a rupture. I am referring to the hoses, which are sold practically everywhere, including Lowes and Home Depot. These are actually rubber or man made flexible polymer hoses, which are covered with a stainless steel braid, to help keep the hose from ballooning and rupturing. They are available in quite a variety of hose length sizes as well as different sizes at the valve fitting end, depending on which size valve you may have. While on the subject of valves, I would also recommend the ball valves, instead of the usual globe type valves that have been used for years. The ball valves turn on an off with a quarter turn and are much less prone to leaking at the stem. If the type of hose you were using is the one described above, and it ruptured, you must havgotten a hold of one with a serious factory defect or one that was damaged somehow.

The toilet supply line exploded. It is one of the flex lines and is about ten years old. I never saw one explode before. Her dining room had a major rain storm. there is about two inches of the supply line blown away It is a good thing that they were home when it happened. If it would have happened when they were at work I don't think they would have a ceiling to repaint and patch. One of the drywall seams actually washed out. I am wondering if I should replace my flex lines. They are older than hers. --- Please visit my home page; it is motivational, inspirational and humorous with many resources for the blind. http://www.lennymchugh.com Lenny Please Copy and Paste into New Message to pass along.
