Lee:  Maybe five feet with the collar yes.  I guess the problem for some
folks is that at a typical small filling station, the fill is calculated by
weight, whereas in order to top off a tank you'd have to calculate the
volume of flow.  I believe a gallon of propane is a little over 7 lbs, and
the folks I used to buy the stuff in bulk from I believe could only get
down to a gallon in their readouts, so there'd be a lot of rounding on a
smaller tank filled this way.

Bill, maybe I have the wrong size but is not a 100 pound tank about 
maybe 5 foot tall. they used to come tomy Moms house quite often 
and then they talked her into two of those tanks and in later years 
she had one of those big fat tanks. I remember because they used to 
have to slide down two tterraces to get to the tank location. L
