We were getting splashing from the washing machine discharge hose as well.
It just barely made it up to the edge of the sink then had a 90 degree
bend. I took another piece of flexible hose and duct taped it onto the
end of the discharge hose hose that it reached into the bottom of the sink.
This completely helped.

As a related comment. I had to have the main drain for the house cleaned
out once, after a major backup. The plumber commented that he pulled out
a ton of lint. He recommended putting a mesh bag over the end of the
washer discharge. Even though there is a lint catcher in the washer, we
still collect a ton of lint at the discharge hose. You can get these
flexible metal screen sock things to put over the end of the hose. I got
mine at one of the big box stores. You get three or four of them in a
pack and they even come with zip ties to help secure them to the hose.
You have to remove them and toss them every now and then because they do
become clogged with lint.
