Jewel, You bring up an excellent point. With the type decking I'm
using, over time the boards dry and contract leaving a small gap of an eighth to a quarter inch or better. If I start with a gap, eventually the gap will be too wide and could create some other issues Al -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]on Behalf Of Jewel Sent: Thursday, July 01, 2010 6:25 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] Clamping system My decking planks have about a quarter inch gap between each for air circulation. Unless you seal every join, I think that you are running a risk of them rotting as water can seep down between the planks and with them being so tightly packed together, there will be no chance of them drying out.
