Yes, this makes perfect sense. The "standby" mode seems to be a real killer.
I adjusted my power options so that my laptop will wait for an hour before it goes to sleep, closing the lid will have no effect on AC power and on battery it will simply shut down the computer. I have noticed that Office 2007 never quite gets it's little feet under it after awakening from a nice "rest". (LOL) I might just as well do a re-boot and call it good.
