Lennie,

Well, you can't have everything. (LOL)

Now, think of this, water is H2O so how could you remove any oxygen from it
and still have water?

I believe that is true for making ice but when you expect a very cold drink,

Hi,

Interestingly there was a theory that the water from the hot water tank had
less oxygen thus is would freeze faster than cold water from the regular
tap. Also, it was thought that the act of heating the water would remove or
help kill bacteria which may or may not be in the city water.

I will tell you one thing, you do *NOT* want to put your hands under the hot
water in our house after it has run long enough to warm up the pipe. It is
*HOT*. I actually like it that way as it takes a lot less hot water to get
the comfortable temp in a shower.

definitely do something else. They charged a friend $150 to hook up a new
refrigerator that has water and ice. A bout a month later he discovered
that they hooked it into the hot water line. The only way he found it was he

went to get a drink while the dish washer was running. Anyway they wanted
another $120 to come out and correct the problem. That was in the Memphis
area or I would have done it for him.

Betsey, thre is like a metal wire loop which flips up or down that
if it is not touching ice cubes in the bucket then the ice cube tray
fills with water and later dumps until the same said ice bucket is
full. This is one of those older Maytags a year or so ago you sent out
the warnings on . so today they are out shopping. holy mother of Mary
the prices if you get a " go green" new machine. . . so now we
contact Sears as she wants a real repairman which will cost $120.00 to
just show up. I'll use something else first. just ranting. Lee
